from yuck- to yum!

Due to the encouragement of Tamra I recovered this thrift store find this week. Tamra had recently made some whimsy chairs for her entry and I couldn't wait to get her help when I saw this chair at the junk store. The fabric is an Amy butler print and I couldn't be more pleased with the end result! This is a great way to get inexpensive one of a kind furniture in your home- I am already on the lookout for my next project. Thank you Tamra for doing the bulk of it- your patience is amazing!

I love your blog! I am crazy about it! Anyways, I am going to redo an old desk we have and I want to do it black and it is currently a almost cherry colored stain. When you did your chair what kind of paint did you use and did you strip the stain off the wood first or just paint over top of it? I got new knobs for the desk and am anxious to get started, but am not sure if it would be okay to just paint over top of it or if I should prime it or strip the stain off first. Help!! Thanks! Just came across your blog. Very, very fun! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas. I saw this one on the chair. I have no idea how to reupholster items. It's a bummer as I come across some wonderful items. How did you do this so it looks so great? I'm hoping you will inspire me to pick up something and try it. Please advise. alysawhitlock@yahoo.com
