this weekend we had a "finish your phd" retreat (this stands for "projects that are half done") i am sure you all have heard of these fun little get togethers. personally, i had yet to attend one. i was thrilled to be invited by my sister in law to stay at her cabin in the white mountains for three blissful kid-free days (thanks to my ever supportive hubby). I had so many plans for my weekend- i would finish some blankets, some jewelry projects and maybe even make a doll for Livia if I had some time. thanks to my sister in law's cute pattern she came up with for making dolls i was ready and willing to give it a try. i just did not understand the amount of work it would take to make this cute little thing. it ended up being my only accomplishment of the entire weekend! it was ever time consuming but well worth it. we made three dolls total which included the new pattern for the mermaid doll. I know they are so cute but if anyone asks me to make them one the answer will be- NO. i don't even think i would be willing to teach someone how to make this- yes.......it was that bad. Livia loves it and has named her Nora. i just better not have another girl because i would feel obligated to suffer through the making of another one out of guilt!

Awesome Amber! A friend of mine in CA makes dolls too and I just haven't accepted the challenge. They are adorable though. Nice work! Aren't girls weekends amazing!!!?
Hi! I follow your blog for quite sometime now, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a 'giveaway' on it for one of the things I sell on etsy. Sorry I'm leaving this as a comment...but I didn't know how else to contact you. Email me via contactify if you'd like to chat! Thanks! Email: http://www.contactify.com/d3023
