my new bench.......

I took Tess's old coffee table and made it into an upholstered bench for the living room. Since I got the fabric for a dollar a yard and the table was given to me plus Wendy gave me some foam- this project cost just around a couple of bucks! maybe it looks like it too.........I was happy with the result and it is only going to be hammered by kiddos anyways so all in all I am stoked!

Hey! I've kept up on your blog for awhile now and I LOVE your new bench. This might be a silly questions, but how did you hang that plate on the wall on the post below? I've hung plates with plate hangers but this just looks like its floating! Do tell!

looks great! how did you keep the foam down or is it just held in when you staple gun (I assume you don't glue the fabric?) the fabric to the bottom of the coffee table. can you please send me step by step directions. i am craft challenged.

Amy- I use those velcro picture hangers for everything! they are made by 3m and i have a stash at all times. they are the bomb ditty!and Mindy- I did use spray adhesive for the foam and the used a staple gun for the fabric. If you were to look under the table it would be obvious how craft challenged I am as well. I am one of those hurry up and just get it done people. I am not really into the process of things.

Amber....I NEED to know where you got your hanging book rack! Its soooo cute! I am considering the Land of Nod book bins, but they don't look like they would hold all of our books! Please help me out!

Wow! I love that! You seriously found that fabric for $1/ yd? What a steal! I'm looking for a bench too, and I just need to remember to keep an open mind as to the base of it. Garage Sale season is here!

Wow, it looks really good. I never would have thought to turn a table into a bench! I would love to hear more about how you got that to work? Like how is the fabric attached?

I just happened upon your blog and I LOVE this idea! I am so glad you explained how to do this because I have extra foam, an old coffee table, and just need some fabric to do this project. I'll link back to you if I do it! Thanks for the inspiration.

Blessings,
Beth
