Even though fall is in the air, it is still hot enough here that I haven't put the summer clothes away quite yet. I made this little top for Livy out of the same peasant shirt pattern from one of the previous posts only I left the sleeves off and used a ribbon in place of elastic. This one was super easy to make and Livia (my picky clothes diva) wears it with no complaints. This would be a great one to try out if the whole peasant shirt making intimidates you. I promise that learning some simple patterns that are versatile will really boost your sewing confidence if you have ever had a desire to sew. I think just going for it and not caring if it is perfect is the best attitude when trying new things. Livia never complains when I hand her something that is uneven she is just stoked that her mom made her something. Aren't kids a great example of no pressure at times. They just haven't yet learned how to criticize and I hope she never does. Please send me pictures if you attempt this new project- especially if you are a new sewer.amberrhoton@yahoo.com

ooh, I love this top. So cute!
is that the same fabric you bought the other day as your reward?
Hi Amber....you don't know me but I just happened to see your blog and I love all the cute little things you make! Everything is so adorable! I also thought of my cousin who makes custom handbags, etc. and she uses a lot of the same fabric as you. If you want to check out her website/blog it is www.modernmyrtle.com - I always like getting ideas from others so I thought maybe you would too. I will definitely be checking your blog again!
